I Keep Getting Asked, “How Do You Have Time for All That?”
3-minute read
I don’t.
Seriously.
I just happen to be really good at squeezing 37 hours into a 24-hour day… right up until I completely crash on the couch wondering why my legs hurt, the laundry is still in the dryer, and someone has once again informed me that tomorrow is “dress like a superhero” day at school.
Nobody warned me about those.
By 4:30 every weekday morning my alarm is going off.
By 5:30 I’m on the road for a 55-minute commute.
By the time most people are pouring their first cup of coffee, I’m already thinking about aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting systems, training records, or whatever challenge decides to introduce itself that day.
Then work ends.

Except…it doesn’t.
Now I’m Mom.
Coach.
Snack distributor.
Homework helper.
Laundry folder.
Professional finder of missing shoes. (Which is literally any time they come off)
Occasional physical therapist.
And somewhere in there I remember that I forgot to thaw dinner.
Again.
The funny part is that this isn’t even the whole story.
My brain doesn’t exactly have an “off” switch.
I’ll be driving home thinking about a pitching drill for my kickball team when somehow my brain takes a hard left turn into, “I wonder how difficult it would be to build an app that actually helps youth sports organizations.”
Then I’ll somehow end up researching website code, reading about neuroscience, pricing barndominiums, comparing protein content in random foods, and convincing myself I absolutely need to learn something completely unrelated before bedtime.
This probably explains why I have seventeen tabs open.
Actually…it’s twenty-three.
I checked.
People assume I’m incredibly organized.
I’m really not.
I just like solving problems.
Big problems.
Little problems.
Problems nobody else has noticed yet.
If something can be made easier, faster, simpler, or more useful, my brain is probably already trying to redesign it.
Sometimes that’s helpful.
Sometimes it’s 11:47 p.m. and I’m redesigning an imaginary app instead of sleeping.
This blog isn’t going to be about pretending I’ve figured life out.
Because I haven’t.
Some weeks dinner is homemade.
Some weeks it’s frozen pizza.
Some practices feel like everything clicks.
Others involve tying twelve shoes, wiping tears, and explaining for the fifteenth time why we don’t pick dandelions in the outfield.
Some days I leave work feeling like I accomplished everything.
Other days I spend my drive home mentally replaying conversations and wondering if I forgot something important.

That’s life.
So if you’re looking for perfectly filtered routines, color-coded schedules that always work, or someone who has all the answers…
You probably won’t find that here.
But if you’ve ever wondered how to balance work, kids, coaching, projects, impossible ideas, endless curiosity, and a brain that constantly asks, “What if we did it this way instead?”…
Pull up a chair.
We’ll figure it out together.
And if we get distracted halfway through…
Well…
That was probably going to happen anyway.
I’d love to know…
What are you up to, outside of your 9-to-5?
